We have one- now and forever.

His name is David Sullivan. The only drawback is he's shit at it.

It's another reason why a DoF or sporting director is so important.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
will pretty much limit us to English League managers if we don't want someone described as a head coach

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
Again, he's a head coach. Not a transfers man, as far as I can tell. Would be daft to give him that responsibility.

Not sure he does require tons of money, managed CL success with Shaktar who ALWAYS sell their best players, got Pacos to 3rd in Portuguese league, then did a similar thing with Braga. Neither of which are massive spenders in the Portuguese league.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
Manyof these managers quoted will need a shed load of money to rebuild a team to their system.

Benitez is the only one I would trust with such a responsibility.

Still think the 2bobs will play safe and cheap with Moyes and it's all PR spin.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
He does sound interesting, as his preferred style ticks all the right boxes. Good age, too.

Whether he can do it in England, with our board's backing, is another story. Same applies to anyone they hire, I suppose, including Moyes.

The only good thing is that this is happening so fast, as we need to hire a manager straight the fuck away, so they can get busy making their plans and doing their shopping.

If C&H are to be believed, he was reportedly viewing properties near London after his meeting at Sullivan's Tacky Towers.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
was a bet or something he saidhe would do if if lead them out of a group containing Man City, Feyernord and Napoli

He did it with ease, doubling Napoli's point total and only losing one game (to City who they beat in the return match)

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
Shaktah beat Man City, thats why he wore the Zoro outfit.

he's a proper coach and tactician.

Can you please do something similar on young Garry Monk.
I think that's who we will probably end up with.
Can you find out about the incident at Swansea's training ground a few years back, when Chico Flores allegedly tried to assault him with a brick?

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
I have no doubt that he is a capable manager, but a few things concern me. How well does he know not only the Premier League and its players, but also its dynamics / characteristics? There is also the number of teams he has already managed; we could well be looking at replacing him, for better or worse, in six months to a year.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
Fonseca didn't go to Shaktar until 2016, when Guardiola joined Man City, so that quote isn't about him at all.

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
Guardiola on him -

“Before every game against Shakhtar, I have the same feeling.

“The first time we face them in the group stage, my [scouting] team went to see them and they came back saying, ‘Wow.’ They were really impressed. In Barcelona all the time it was, ‘Shakhtar, Ukraine, who cares which players play, nobody knows them.’

“I can assure you it was one of the best teams in terms of playing football. It was so tough for me. For Barcelona, Bayern, we had good results but it was tough. I have a lot of respect for them.”

Re: Some articles on Fonseca and his style of play
He likes to play a 4-2-3-1

You need to rock solid defensive midfielders for that to have a chance of success

Hmmmm
